On Wednesday, the 30th of April 2025, every student in St. Joseph’s took part in a litter pick up in association with Macroom Tidy Towns. Síle and Liam from the Tidy Towns joined us for the day and we were very appreciative of their time and generosity.
This action day was part of our Green Schools Committee’s quest to receive the Green flag in relation to Global Citizenship – Litter and Waste. Younger classes cleaned within the school grounds. Second class cleaned Duggan’s Lane. Third cleaned the laneway near Super Valu. Fourth cleaned the playground and surrounding areas. Fifth cleaned the Castle Grounds. Finally, sixth class cleaned the area near the bridge and Fairy Garden.
