Wellness Wednesday
Wellness Wednesday is held on the first Wednesday of every month in St. Joseph’s. It is an opportunity to focus especially on our health and wellbeing. In school, we do a wellness activity during the day…sometimes the teachers choose the activity and sometimes the pupils suggest the activity. Most importantly, on Wellness Wednesday children are given no written homework. This gives an opportunity to relax and enjoy doing something together as a family – walk the dog, bake, cycle, play a board game, skip, read a book together – the list is endless!
We all look forward to Wellness Wednesday in St. Joseph’s – teachers, parents and pupils!
Healthy Eating and Drinking
St. Joseph’s has a Whole School Food policy to encourage the whole school community – pupils, staff and parents – to make healthy food choices which support and enhance living and learning.
We encourage healthy lunchboxes, filled with appropriate portion sizes of ‘ready to eat’ lunch (eg. peeled orange) We suggest you look at the food pyramid (see below) when thinking about your lunch and choose to include foods and drinks such as
